Murder your Soul

The chief skill that sets artists apart from talented, artistic people is the ability to finish. To push forward when it would make more sense to go back and start over. To settle for less so that you can move on. It militates against the creative urge that says “I can make something awesome”, and thereby inspires one to start. To be an artist, you have to be able to murder your soul, and then bring it back to life on command.

And from the handful of times I have managed it, I can testify that it’s totally worth it.
